U21 Venezuela made a substitution. Veto Nieves replaced Xurde Buiza. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Torbjörn Nilsson was the one to do the kick off. After 52 played minutes U21 Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Rosio Tineo. When Torbjörn Nilsson came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the U21 Sweden fans jumped to their feet. The referee ignored U21 Venezuela's protests and gave Rosio Tineo a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, U21 Venezuela's Rosio Tineo got a free kick in the 71st minute. The U21 Sweden supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing U21 Sweden would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
