After a rather tough play, U21 Netherlands's Harmen Hilkes got a free kick in the 45th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rik Winnepennincks stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 minutes of play, U21 Belgium's Ive Schamp made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ive Schamp ran back to his position shaking his head. Ferry Hebels kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. U21 Belgium's Andreas Frans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ted Fokkelman in the 75th minute of play. With a little luck, U21 Belgium's Andreas Frans got control of the ball when Ferry Hebels tried to sneak it across the goal line. U21 Netherlands were awarded a corner in the 86th minute after U21 Belgium's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Marnix Mastebroek took the corner.
