Hungary:s Ferenc Tököli showed great skill when he stopped Gigi Joanță:s penalty. Ferenc Tököli came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Romania's Gigi Joanță. But to his dismay, Gigi Joanță quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Dorel Bolborici took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tivadar Demeter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dorel Bolborici showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tivadar Demeter, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Dorel Bolborici showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tivadar Demeter in the 18th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Isăilă in the 19th minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Ferenc Tököli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th minute, Manuel Isăilă made a precise shot to the right of Ferenc Tököli. Hungary's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Ştefan Iovan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Ferenc Tököli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 29 minutes into the match, Romania's Manuel Isăilă sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ferenc Tököli narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Manuel Isăilă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 31 minutes into the match, Hungary's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Isăilă came free, but Ferenc Tököli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Romania's Dorel Bolborici played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richárd Nyilasi in the 34th minute of play. Dorel Bolborici made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tivadar Demeter in the 39th minute of play. Ferenc Tököli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Isăilă in the 40th minute of play. The Hungary players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Romania were winning 0-2.

The wind increased when Manuel Isăilă made the kick off in the second half. Romania's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gigi Joanță in the 53rd minute. Ferenc Tököli made an important save on a dangerous shot by Traian Curuțiu in the 53rd minute. After 55 played minutes Hungary got a freekick which was hit by Kornél Ács. Mátyás Zakariás made in the 60th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Romania's Traian Curuțiu. 61 minutes into the game, Manuel Isăilă recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ferenc Tököli. Manuel Isăilă showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. Hungary's Ferenc Puskás was substituted for Richárd Nyilasi. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pál Polyák in the 68th minute of play forced Romania's goalkeeper Dorel Bolborici to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manuel Isăilă fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ferenc Tököli having to interfere. Pál Polyák recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Romania defense, Pál Polyák kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dorel Bolborici. The Romania fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dorel Bolborici should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pál Polyák in the 87th minute of play forced Romania's goalkeeper Dorel Bolborici to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ciprian Toma in the 88th minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Ferenc Tököli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Romania's Dorel Bolborici played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pál Polyák in the 90th minute of play. Dorel Bolborici didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pál Polyák went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. Ferenc Tököli made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ciprian Toma in the 93rd minute. Hungary's Ferenc Tököli proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Hungary from getting a goal against them. Romania's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
