Maria Galvan started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Leland Trejo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eugene Stafford. Sheldrake's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leland Trejo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Leland Trejo took the ball and in the 6 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eugene Stafford. Eugene Stafford dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leland Trejo got free with Eugene Stafford in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Leland Trejo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Eugene Stafford made a huge save. Tracy Bélanger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Huey Kane in the 22nd minute of play. Eugene Stafford came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by MTL Impact's Leland Trejo. But to his dismay, Leland Trejo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Jourdain Cullen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugene Stafford having to interfere. Raul Alexander hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leland Trejo during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alejandro Spears fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugene Stafford having to interfere. The supporters of MTL Impact booed when Sheldrake was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maria Galvan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eugene Stafford took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jourdain Cullen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 42 minutes into the match, Sheldrake's goal looked a bit too open when Jourdain Cullen came free, but Eugene Stafford reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leland Trejo made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leland Trejo in the 52nd minute of play forced Sheldrake's goalkeeper Eugene Stafford to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eugene Stafford didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jourdain Cullen went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. In the 58th minute, Maria Galvan made a precise shot to the right of Tracy Bélanger. MTL Impact's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-1. In the 64thth minute of the game Leland Trejo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sheldrake's Eugene Stafford was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Jourdain Cullen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 67 minutes into the match, Sheldrake's goal looked a bit too open when Jourdain Cullen came free, but Eugene Stafford reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 69 minutes into the match, Leland Trejo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eugene Stafford. Sheldrake's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leland Trejo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leonardo Pereira got free with Tracy Bélanger in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sheldrake's Eugene Stafford played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sal Ratté in the 80th minute of play. After some careless play in the Sheldrake defense, Leland Trejo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eugene Stafford. The Sheldrake fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eugene Stafford should have stopped the shot. Normand Barber charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Normand Barber the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of MTL Impact booed when Sheldrake was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Normand Barber didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leland Trejo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Eugene Stafford tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maria Galvan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tracy Bélanger having to interfere. The referee felt a red card was in order, 94 minutes into the game, when Andres Daigle put in a rough tackle. 94 minutes into the game, one of Sheldrake:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Eugene Stafford went to the wrong direction when Jerold Goulet was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. When the referee ended the match the MTL Impact players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
