After a rather tough play, GALATASARAY SK's Noe Godfrey got a free kick in the 19th minute. After 20 minutes, Kennith Nance mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the GALATASARAY SK and the Sheldrake players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to GALATASARAY SK getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Kennith Nance hit a great ball. Bryan Levine shot from long distance in the 21st minute, but Kurtis Capps was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. Kurtis Capps took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maria Galvan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Sheldrake booed when GALATASARAY SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kennith Nance didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 34th minute, Bryan Levine sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and GALATASARAY SK's Kurtis Capps didn't even have to move. After a defensive mix-up in GALATASARAY SK's zone, Maria Galvan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kurtis Capps came out of the goal and Maria Galvan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 40 minutes into the match, GALATASARAY SK's goal looked a bit too open when Maria Galvan came free, but Kurtis Capps reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Barnabé Cruz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The GALATASARAY SK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After the first half GALATASARAY SK were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Clyde Aponte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugene Stafford having to interfere. If Barnabé Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 97th minute Maria Galvan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kurtis Capps saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
