The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hershel Cavazos hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. In the 11th minute, Maurice Odonnell ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Anton Lamothe was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Anton Lamothe didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Seth Luke went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Anton Lamothe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donovan Nash in the 18th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the match, Varennes's goal looked a bit too open when Augustus Combs came free, but Gilberto Boone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute of the match CS Impact de Montreal got a corner. Varennes's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Josh Glenn ran over to the corner to take the kick. When Augustus Combs came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the CS Impact de Montreal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Augustus Combs couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet as Maurice Odonnell kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Anton Lamothe. That made the score 3-0 in the 28 minute of play. Gilberto Boone showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augustus Combs in the 31st minute of the match. After some careless play in the CS Impact de Montreal defense, Bernardo Goudreau kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Anton Lamothe. The CS Impact de Montreal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Anton Lamothe should have stopped the shot. CS Impact de Montreal's Anton Lamothe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save CS Impact de Montreal from getting a goal against them. CS Impact de Montreal's Anton Lamothe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Seth Luke in the 38th minute of play. Curtis Duclos hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Varennes's Théophile Berger got a free kick in the 44th minute. After having played for 45 minutes, Josh Glenn managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CS Impact de Montreal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Josh Glenn was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Anton Lamothe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donovan Nash, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bernardo Goudreau to strike the kick off in the second half. Anton Lamothe was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Anton Lamothe came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Varennes's Seth Luke. But to his dismay, Seth Luke quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 9-0. A collision led to CS Impact de Montreal getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Augustus Combs hit a great ball. 87 minutes into the match, Maurice Odonnell notched a goal, 11-0, to the right of CS Impact de Montreal's Anton Lamothe. Anton Lamothe was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maurice Odonnell in the 91st minute of play forced CS Impact de Montreal's goalkeeper Anton Lamothe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th minute, Wendell Petit left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Varennes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 12-0. Varennes's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
