If Cafu Tepedino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geovanni Velasco in the 8th minute of play forced Bezerras SS's goalkeeper Maurício Bittencourt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maurício Bittencourt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geovanni Velasco, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. The supporters of Bezerras SS booed when Osório FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Murillo Loyola didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zé Roberto Branco in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gilmar de Amaral prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Murillo Loyola fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Osório FC's protests and gave Murillo Loyola a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Bezerras SS booed when Osório FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Murillo Loyola didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 17th minute of the match Vágner Arantes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gilmar de Amaral skillfully saved the ball. Osvaldo Peixoto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Murillo Loyola kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. In the 27th minute, Vágner Arantes sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Osório FC's Gilmar de Amaral didn't even have to move. The supporters of Osório FC booed when Bezerras SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serginho de Senna didn't get a good kick on the ball. 34 minutes into the match, Osório FC's Osvaldo Peixoto broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The audience was convinced that Geovanni Velasco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Maurício Bittencourt was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. Maurício Bittencourt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Murillo Loyola in the 43rd minute of play. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Osório FC's goalkeeper Gilmar de Amaral, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Geovanni Velasco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Maurício Bittencourt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geovanni Velasco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Raúl Velasco kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Cafu Tepedino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Maurício Bittencourt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Tomé Meirelles came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Bezerras SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomé Meirelles couldn't finish the play. Zé Roberto Branco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilmar de Amaral having to interfere. Gilmar de Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Roberto Branco in the 64th minute of play. Tomé Meirelles struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Gilmar de Amaral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bezerras SS. With a little luck, Bezerras SS's Maurício Bittencourt got control of the ball when Cafu Tepedino tried to sneak it across the goal line. Zé Roberto Branco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Gilmar de Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tomé Meirelles might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gilmar de Amaral. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomé Meirelles ran back to his position shaking his head. 82 minutes into the match, Geovanni Velasco dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Maurício Bittencourt, 0-1. Geovanni Velasco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Cafu Tepedino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Bezerras SS fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Osório FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
