ATOS FC's Charles Cruz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovanni Velasco in the 4th minute of play. 11 minutes into the match, ATOS FC's goal looked a bit too open when Geovanni Velasco came free, but Charles Cruz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 12 minutes, Leonardo Paraíba mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ATOS FC and the Osório FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Osório FC booed when ATOS FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Paraíba didn't get a good kick on the ball. ATOS FC's Charles Cruz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovanni Velasco in the 15th minute of play. Leonardo Paraíba hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Geovanni Velasco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Osório FC's Cafu Tepedino got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Through an outstanding action, after 23 minutes, Charles Cruz successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. If Charles Marquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Charles Marquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Gilmar de Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 32 minutes, Cafu Tepedino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Osório FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cafu Tepedino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Charles Cruz was a little too slow when Geovanni Velasco got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 34th minute. The score was now 1-0. If Cafu Tepedino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Geovanni Velasco to make the kick off. Charles Cruz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cafu Tepedino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Osório FC getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Osvaldo Peixoto hit a great ball. Rafael Valle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 62 minutes into the match, Charles Marquez dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gilmar de Amaral, 1-1. In the 67th minute, Rafael Valle ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gilmar de Amaral was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Gilmar de Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Charles Marquez, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. When Geovanni Velasco came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Osório FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geovanni Velasco couldn't finish the play.
