Spectators: 7244 (Terracing: 5434, Seating: 1666, VIP seats: 144) Tinguis's Alex Reis started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Bezerras SS's zone, Rubens Lira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maurício Bittencourt came out of the goal and Rubens Lira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rubens Lira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurício Bittencourt having to interfere. Jorginho Proença made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Tomé Meirelles sent off a good shot on target. When Alex Reis came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Tinguis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alex Reis couldn't finish the play. 13 minutes into the match, Alex Reis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Maurício Bittencourt. Bezerras SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alex Reis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 19th match minute, Tinguis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Carlos do Vale to maneuver through the defense. 22 minutes had been played when some careless play by Tinguis's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Vágner Arantes was slow to take the kick. During this time Bezerras SS's players had a chance to rest. Bezerras SS's Vágner Arantes was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jorginho Proença in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Zé Roberto Branco hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Bezerras SS's Maurício Bittencourt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rubens Lira in the 31st minute of play. Zé Roberto Branco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Rubens Lira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maurício Bittencourt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rubens Lira's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. In the 45th minute Rubens Lira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurício Bittencourt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alex Reis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Maurício Bittencourt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zé Roberto Branco was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, Bezerras SS's Maurício Bittencourt got control of the ball when Rubens Lira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jânio Secco hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Maurício Bittencourt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Reis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rubens Lira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Maurício Bittencourt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Rubens Lira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rubens Lira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Maurício Bittencourt made a huge save. After 75 played minutes Bezerras SS got a freekick which was hit by Percy Sena. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Alex Reis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tinguis's supporters rose to their feet, but Alex Reis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maurício Bittencourt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tomé Meirelles blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jorginho Proença having to make a save. Zé Roberto Branco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorginho Proença having to interfere. With his leg Maurício Bittencourt managed to avoid a goal in the 87thth minute, when Tinguis's Rubens Lira fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 90 minutes into the match, Bezerras SS's goalkeeper Maurício Bittencourt had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rubens Lira. A collision led to Bezerras SS getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Serginho de Senna hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Bezerras SS defense, Wiliam Mangueira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Maurício Bittencourt. The Bezerras SS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Maurício Bittencourt should have stopped the shot. Tinguis's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
