Genílson Tepedino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonas Vasconcelos having to interfere. Frank Simão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Genílson Tepedino got free with Jonas Vasconcelos in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 20th minute Frank Simão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonas Vasconcelos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25th minute Franklin Fonseca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Carlos Furlan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Franklin Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 29th minute, Genílson Tepedino left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Guaravera fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Jonas Vasconcelos stood somewhat misplaced when Genílson Tepedino came free in front of goal and shot 3-0 to the left of him in the 36 minute. After having played for 45 minutes, Umberto de Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Erveira FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Umberto de Lara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Erveira FC's Jonas Vasconcelos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Genílson Tepedino in the 56th minute of play. Jonas Vasconcelos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. For all the effort they put into the match, the Erveira FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Guaravera.
