Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Oscar Aguiar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Walmir Urbano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Reynaldo Mendes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vassilis Gountelitsas might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Reynaldo Mendes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vassilis Gountelitsas ran back to his position shaking his head. If Oscar Aguiar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 26 minutes into the match, Gordura's goalkeeper Reynaldo Mendes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vassilis Gountelitsas. Reynaldo Mendes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oscar Aguiar in the 27th minute. 28 minutes into the game, Washington Costa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gordura's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bambuhy the free kick. After 28 played minutes Gordura got a freekick which was hit by Washington Costa. Reynaldo Mendes was out of position in the 30 minute of play, and Oscar Aguiar capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Oscar Aguiar really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. The supporters of Gordura booed when Bambuhy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dong Nan Yao didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 36th minute, Oscar Aguiar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bambuhy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Oscar Aguiar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 47 minutes into the match, Oscar Aguiar notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Gordura's Reynaldo Mendes. Reynaldo Mendes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Oscar Aguiar to strike the kick off in the second half. Reynaldo Mendes came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Bambuhy's Oscar Aguiar. But to his dismay, Oscar Aguiar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. Sílvio Luiz Mendes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Carlos Eduardo Veloso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Oscar Aguiar took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Reynaldo Mendes. Reynaldo Mendes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-1. Reynaldo Mendes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oscar Aguiar in the 73rd minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, Gordura's goal looked a bit too open when Vassilis Gountelitsas came free, but Reynaldo Mendes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute, Oscar Aguiar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bambuhy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-1. 84 minutes into the game, Oscar Aguiar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-1. Reynaldo Mendes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Bambuhy had played much better football throughout.
