Cristóvão Carioca was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Ribeiro Sales FC booed when Pirapitingui SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luizinho de Toledo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Pirapitingui SC's zone, Claudinho Barros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristóvão Carioca came out of the goal and Claudinho Barros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Ribeiro Sales FC were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Claudinho Barros was the one to do the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Ribeiro Sales FC's Claudinho Barros slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Cristóvão Carioca. That made the score 0-8 after 78 minutes of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 81 minutes into the game, when Luizinho de Toledo put in a rough tackle.
