Spectators: 7309 (Terracing: 5483, Seating: 1681, VIP seats: 145) Paulo Gipuzkoa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulino Hegoi in the 5th minute of play. Alejandro Joanes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Paulo Gipuzkoa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 20 minutes, Baldomiro Marquez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. LAS ESTRELLAS DE BANFIELD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Baldomiro Marquez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Paulo Gipuzkoa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulino Hegoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paulino Hegoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Paulo Gipuzkoa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulino Hegoi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Gipuzkoa having to interfere. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 38 minutes into the match, Marull's goal looked a bit too open when Paulino Hegoi came free, but Paulo Gipuzkoa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th minute Alejandro Joanes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Gipuzkoa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Marull's zone, Paulino Hegoi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Gipuzkoa came out of the goal and Paulino Hegoi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 46 minutes into the match, Baldomiro Marquez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paulo Gipuzkoa. Marull's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Baldomiro Marquez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Paulino Hegoi made a kick off. After 52 played minutes LAS ESTRELLAS DE BANFIELD got a freekick which was hit by Alejandro Joanes. After a rather tough play, LAS ESTRELLAS DE BANFIELD's Angel Silbestre got a free kick in the 60th minute. A throw-in in the 65th minute of the game was made by Ovidio Jaizki with Jesus Neto as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Paulino Hegoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Paulo Gipuzkoa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 72 minutes into the match, LAS ESTRELLAS DE BANFIELD's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Uhin came free, but Baldomiro Nardo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Baldomiro Marquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulo Gipuzkoa came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by LAS ESTRELLAS DE BANFIELD's Paulino Hegoi. But to his dismay, Paulino Hegoi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 84 minutes into the match, Marull's goal looked a bit too open when Paulino Hegoi came free, but Paulo Gipuzkoa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paulino Hegoi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paulino Hegoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Paulo Gipuzkoa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baldomiro Marquez in the 89th minute of play forced Marull's goalkeeper Paulo Gipuzkoa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Paulino Hegoi kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Paulo Gipuzkoa. That made the score 0-3 in the 91 minute of play. The audience was convinced that Paulino Hegoi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Paulo Gipuzkoa was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. LAS ESTRELLAS DE BANFIELD played a much better game than Marull and deserved their victory. The Marull players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
