The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Haroldo Heriberto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Domingo Dino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Salto's Haroldo Heriberto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Basilio Quico in the 24th minute of play. When the match clock showed 25 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Basilio Quico sped through Salto's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Haroldo Heriberto. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Patricio Mantzio during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. LEPRA12's supporters rose to their feet, but Dario Bernaldo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Haroldo Heriberto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. LEPRA12's Ildefonso Romo was substituted for Emilio Rudolfo. Haroldo Heriberto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Domingo Dino in the 62nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Basilio Quico's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Haroldo Heriberto was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. After having played for 69 minutes, Maximino Sanchez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Salto's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maximino Sanchez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tadeo Arotza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Mantzio in the 73rd minute of the match. Atilano Baristo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tadeo Arotza having to interfere. Atilano Baristo succeeded in the game's 84th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. If Atilano Baristo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 90 minutes into the match, Salto's goalkeeper Haroldo Heriberto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Basilio Quico. Tadeo Arotza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Atilano Baristo in the 92nd minute of play. Salto's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
