The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Tiburcio Eli was extremely unlucky when he, in the 13th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Arnaldo Oliverio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Justino Cordero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Segundo Isidor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marco Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiburcio Millrick having to interfere. Arnaldo Oliverio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tiburcio Millrick stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Segundo Isidor's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. In the 29th minute Marco Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiburcio Millrick saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marco Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Tiburcio Millrick tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tiburcio Millrick made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Segundo Isidor in the 37th minute of play. In the 41st match minute, Deportivo Villa Paez was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Balendin to maneuver through the defense. Tiburcio Millrick showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Segundo Isidor in the 43rd minute of the match. Tiburcio Eli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Tiburcio Eli made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 55 minutes, Arnaldo Oliverio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportivo Villa Paez's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arnaldo Oliverio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Marco Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tiburcio Millrick showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. 65 minutes into the game, Juan Balendin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Deportivo Villa Paez's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Millonarios the free kick. The supporters of Millonarios booed when Deportivo Villa Paez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Balendin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tiburcio Millrick made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Azevedo in the 69th minute of play. A collision led to Millonarios getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Nereo Berasko hit a great ball. Marco Azevedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpected shot in the 77th minute by Marco Azevedo got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Villa Paez's zone, Marco Azevedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tiburcio Millrick came out of the goal and Marco Azevedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Millonarios defense, Tiburcio Eli kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Justino Cordero. The Millonarios fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Justino Cordero should have stopped the shot. 89 minutes in the game, Marco Azevedo fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Tiburcio Millrick having to interfere. After 90 played minutes Deportivo Villa Paez got a freekick which was hit by Horacio Venceslao. If Segundo Isidor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tiburcio Millrick made an important save on a dangerous shot by Segundo Isidor in the 97th minute.
