Justino Cordero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 25 played minutes La Paternal got a freekick which was hit by Leonides Napier. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Marco Azevedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Millonarios's supporters rose to their feet, but Marco Azevedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rafael Lapurdi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Millonarios's supporters crossed their fingers, but Primitivo Rexino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rafael Lapurdi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marco Azevedo's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. Marco Azevedo might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rafael Lapurdi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marco Azevedo ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match clock showed 85 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Segundo Isidor sped through La Paternal's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Rafael Lapurdi. Rafael Lapurdi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marco Azevedo in the 95th minute of the match. La Paternal's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Millonarios had won, even though La Paternal had held more of the ball.
