The audience thought a goal was coming when Hermes Aleixo got free with Israel Lustosa in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 16 minutes into the match, Hermes Aleixo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Israel Lustosa, 2-0. In the 20th minute, Amável Neves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Porfírio Vigário made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laureano Malta in the 24th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Encho Saco got free with Israel Lustosa in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Israel Lustosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amílcar Cunha, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Sporting FC's Israel Lustosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diogo Modesto in the 35th minute of play. Laureano Malta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Porfírio Vigário having to interfere. Virgílio Baía recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Porfírio Vigário took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laureano Malta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Virgílio Baía had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Diogo Modesto made the kick off in the second half. Virgílio Baía kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Israel Lustosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diogo Modesto in the 55th minute of the match. Virgílio Baía fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Porfírio Vigário having to interfere. Israel Lustosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Encho Saco in the 67th minute of play. 70 minutes into the game, Mini àguias's Amílcar Cunha nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Israel Lustosa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. 76 minutes into the match, Mini àguias's goalkeeper Porfírio Vigário had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Virgílio Baía. Mini àguias's defense didn't have a chance, in the 76th minute, when Virgílio Baía scored to the left of an out of position Porfírio Vigário, making the score, 4-1.
