Owen Hopker breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Andrew Wild might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Frankie Cardwell. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Andrew Wild ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Ballymoney Athletic getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Sid Legg hit a great ball. Intrusive Thoughts's Owen Hopker played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Connor Ashton in the 36th minute of play. Stephen Stubbs took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 38th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Owen Hopker. Intrusive Thoughts's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Owen Hopker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Connor Ashton, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Intrusive Thoughts's zone, Connor Ashton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Owen Hopker came out of the goal and Connor Ashton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Barry Booker charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Barry Booker the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Barry Booker hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Connor Ashton was the one to do the kick off. Frankie Cardwell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jim Bannister, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Owen Hopker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bronagh Rice in the 55th minute of the match. Owen Hopker was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Intrusive Thoughts were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Ballymoney Athletic to leave the ground with a draw.
