An unexpectedly hard shot by Brennan Byrne in the 7th minute of play forced Scronagare's goalkeeper Baydan McBrandon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 16 minutes into the game, Brennan Byrne was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Shankill's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Scronagare the free kick. A collision led to Shankill getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Brennan Byrne hit a great ball. Shankill's Gehan Moran got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 22 minutes into the game, Pearce Johnson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Shankill's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Scronagare the free kick. In the 23rd minute, Gearalt Bayes sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Shankill's Irwin McJohnny didn't even have to move. After a defensive mix-up in Scronagare's zone, Saoirse McStephen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baydan McBrandon came out of the goal and Saoirse McStephen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Scronagare getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Brenan Caffrey hit a great ball. Basil McPaul hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. In the 31st minute Gearóid Doherty shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Irwin McJohnny saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gearóid Doherty was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 34th minute. Scronagare's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After 37 played minutes Shankill got a freekick which was hit by Basil McPaul. The long shot by Gearalt Bayes in the 38th minute really tested Irwin McJohnny's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 39th minute, Gearóid Doherty ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Irwin McJohnny was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Irwin McJohnny was out of position in the 44 minute of play, and Rowland McIan capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Rowland McIan really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Saoirse McStephen was the one to do the kick off. Kevis McAaron's late challenge caught a Shankill's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kevis McAaron helped the player get up and apologised. 55 minutes into the game, Bradon Gollogley was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Scronagare's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Shankill the free kick. Bradon Gollogley kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Gehan Moran took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 55th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Baydan McBrandon. Scronagare's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Saoirse McStephen came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Shankill fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Saoirse McStephen couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Scronagare booed when Shankill was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artt McTom didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bradon Gollogley in the 68th minute of play forced Shankill's goalkeeper Irwin McJohnny to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Irwin McJohnny took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gearóid Doherty, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Shankill booed when Scronagare was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sameer McJames didn't get a good kick on the ball.
