The wind increased when Saoirse McStephen made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Shankill's goal looked a bit too open when Wawrzyniec Tomiczek came free, but Irwin McJohnny reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee ignored Shankill's protests and gave Brennan Byrne a yellow card for diving instead. Ballyguin's attentive Blathma Duggan managed to snatch the ball when Brennan Byrne made a throw-in in the 86th minute of the game. Ballyguin's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
