The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute Marcus Mellbad shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Herbert Brun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 6 minutes into the game, Leonardo Ånger was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sikfors SK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tanumshede FF the free kick. In the 6th minute, Leonardo Ånger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Herbert Brun showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patrick Bremming in the 9th minute of the match. Tanumshede FF's Herbert Brun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcus Mellbad in the 14th minute of play. Sikfors SK's Kjell Nyberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joakim Forssberg in the 16th minute of play. Herbert Brun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrick Bremming, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Kjell Nyberg had great luck who in the 20thth minute grab hold of the ball when Joakim Forssberg from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. 22 minutes into the game, Sikfors SK's Patrick Bremming nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Herbert Brun made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After 25 played minutes Sikfors SK got a freekick which was hit by Joakim Hård. Kjell Nyberg came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Tanumshede FF's Håkan Lindgren. But to his dismay, Håkan Lindgren quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Kjell Nyberg was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Joakim Forssberg showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 31 minute of play. Joakim Forssberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Kjell Nyberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcus Mellbad took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Herbert Brun. Herbert Brun dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. After some careless play in the Tanumshede FF defense, Marcus Mellbad kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Herbert Brun. The Tanumshede FF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Herbert Brun should have stopped the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 2-3.

In the 53rd minute, Patrick Bremming reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Herbert Brun. The goal made the score 2-4. Patrick Bremming could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Herbert Brun made a huge save. Tanumshede FF's Herbert Brun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcus Mellbad in the 59th minute of play. Roger Sundström could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Herbert Brun made a huge save. In the 64th minute Marcus Mellbad shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Herbert Brun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ingmar Melin in the 81st minute of play forced Sikfors SK's goalkeeper Kjell Nyberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Herbert Brun was out of position in the 83 minute of play, and Roger Sundström capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Roger Sundström really showed his touch with that goal: 2-6. Tanumshede FF's Herbert Brun proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Tanumshede FF from getting a goal against them. Marcus Mellbad had several of the Tanumshede FF's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 87 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-7 score and a disappointed Herbert Brun as he didn't even see the shot coming. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sven-Oskar Nyström got free with Herbert Brun in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
