The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Kiruna's Mikael Ekenberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Kiruna from getting a goal against them. If Håkan Lindgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joakim Forssberg let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 12th minute shot 1-0 at rihgt post. Joakim Forssberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mikael Ekenberg having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Oskar Mårtensson during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 21st match minute, Kiruna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oskar Mårtensson to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leo Lindström in the 25th minute of play forced Tanumshede FF's goalkeeper Herbert Brun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Michael Walroth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Mikael Ekenberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ingmar Melin got free with Mikael Ekenberg in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 29 minutes into the match, Tanumshede FF's goal looked a bit too open when Klas Glanselius came free, but Herbert Brun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Klas Glanselius hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Kiruna's goalkeeper Mikael Ekenberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Kiruna booed when Tanumshede FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jerry Ekström didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joakim Forssberg was the one to do the kick off. When Tanumshede FF's Joakim Forssberg in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Kiruna's goalie prevented a goal. It was beautiful to see Tanumshede FF's Thomas Stenqvist in action when he in the 57th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Mikael Ekenberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joakim Forssberg's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. In the 62nd minute Klas Glanselius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Herbert Brun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ingmar Melin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Herbert Brun made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leo Lindström in the 70th minute. Leo Lindströms short, quick shot in the 70thth minute got Herbert Brun to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Håkan Lindgren hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michael Walroth in the 81st minute of play forced Kiruna's goalkeeper Mikael Ekenberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Tanumshede FF booed when Kiruna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oskar Mårtensson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 86th minute of the match Joakim Forssberg shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mikael Ekenberg showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 87 minutes of play, Tanumshede FF's Ingmar Melin made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mikael Ekenberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! Klas Glanselius might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Herbert Brun. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Klas Glanselius ran back to his position shaking his head. Klas Glanselius sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. There was no doubt that Tanumshede FF were the better team. Tanumshede FF's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
