After a rather tough play, Landgraaf 07's Laurențiu Ciocan got a free kick in the 4th minute. If Kurt Redan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 14th minute, Arjen de Boer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Taco Timmermans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnold Pool, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th minute Laurențiu Ciocan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan de Boer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Taco Timmermans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilco Heida in the 26th minute of the match. Landgraaf 07's Taco Timmermans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henk van Zwieten in the 29th minute of play. Jan de Boer made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Karsten Wijnands sent off a good shot on target. Wilco Heida struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Taco Timmermans didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sons of Strategy. In the 36th minute Arjen de Boer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Taco Timmermans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With 39 minutes on the clock, Ferry Klein commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 39th minute, one of Sons of Strategy:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Sons of Strategy. Sons of Strategy:s Jan de Boer showed great skill when he stopped Karsten Wijnands:s penalty. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnold Pool in the 43rd minute of play forced Landgraaf 07's goalkeeper Taco Timmermans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Taco Timmermans showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henk van Zwieten, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. 46 minutes into the game, Arjen de Boer cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Taco Timmermans was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

A collision led to Sons of Strategy getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Henk van Zwieten hit a great ball. Jan de Boer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laurențiu Ciocan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 65 played minutes Sons of Strategy got a freekick which was hit by Henk van Zwieten. Sons of Strategy's Arjen de Boer got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Landgraaf 07's Taco Timmermans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arjen de Boer in the 75th minute of play. 79 minutes into the match, Sons of Strategy's goal looked a bit too open when Laurențiu Ciocan came free, but Jan de Boer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oliver Myr fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan de Boer having to interfere. A hard shot by Wilco Heida from long distance, 87 minutes into the match, got Taco Timmermans's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 89th minute, Fabian Buckinx hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Henk van Zwieten fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Taco Timmermans having to interfere. Landgraaf 07's Taco Timmermans proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Landgraaf 07 from getting a goal against them. Henk van Zwietens short, quick shot in the 96thth minute got Taco Timmermans to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Sons of Strategy's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
