Rajmond Winnepennincx was extremely unlucky when he, in the 36th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After having played for 41 minutes, Benedict Roeckeloes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KFC Forges's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benedict Roeckeloes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Tobias Joostens fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wipelgem's protests and gave Tobias Joostens a yellow card for diving instead. Tobias Joostens hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Matteo Schipmans was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 48th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gino Smekens to strike the kick off in the second half. Yelle Vissenaeken fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basiel Verschelde having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Benedict Roeckeloes got free with Nicolaas Denturck in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Wipelgem's zone, Benedict Roeckeloes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicolaas Denturck came out of the goal and Benedict Roeckeloes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Benedict Roeckeloes managed to get in a good position for a shot. KFC Forges's supporters rose to their feet, but Benedict Roeckeloes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nicolaas Denturck breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Wipelgem booed when KFC Forges was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jan-Joost Temmerman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rajmond Winnepennincx received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Basiel Verschelde tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kim Meynen during the 84th minute.
