Cederik Lache kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Gregory Gielis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bertan Helsens having to interfere. Bertan Helsens acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 16th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Dieter Van Havent. In the 22nd minute Jochen Raeijmaeckers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bertan Helsens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Sporting Club Anderlecht getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Henri-Xavier Van dooren hit a great ball. Cedric Van Achteren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cederik Lache in the 28th minute of the match. 35 minutes into the match, Sporting Club Anderlecht's Jochen Raeijmaeckers sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bertan Helsens narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 39th minute, Stein Schouters left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Willemeau fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jochen Raeijmaeckers stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Sporting Club Anderlecht getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Henri-Xavier Van dooren hit a great ball. When Yves De kaiser fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sporting Club Anderlecht's protests and gave Yves De kaiser a yellow card for diving instead. After 67 played minutes Sporting Club Anderlecht got a freekick which was hit by Yves De kaiser. Guust Van der Vorst recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Cederik Lache took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Cedric Van Achteren to make any attempt to save it. Jochen Raeijmaeckers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bertan Helsens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jochen Raeijmaeckers, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. After 93 minutes, Richard Temmerman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Willemeau and the Sporting Club Anderlecht players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee gave Sporting Club Anderlecht a penalty, 96 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jochen Raeijmaeckers, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Willemeau's Bertan Helsens. 3-2. After 98 played minutes Willemeau got a freekick which was hit by Anton Van Deijck. When Gregory Gielis came up free with the goalie in the 99th minute, the Sporting Club Anderlecht fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gregory Gielis couldn't finish the play. When the referee ended the match the Sporting Club Anderlecht players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
