Jorre Van Den Eynden's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Wart Keldermans firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 5 minutes, Garry Imbereghs mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the De Matoekoes and the VM HOPVELDEN players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of VM HOPVELDEN booed when De Matoekoes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Garry Imbereghs didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jan Baecke received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Wart Keldermans came out and tried to block the shot, but Jan Baecke slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 7th minute. Jan Baecke hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Jorre Van Den Eynden took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Wart Keldermans to make any attempt to save it. Jorre Van Den Eynden could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Wart Keldermans made a huge save. With an all-out effort, VM HOPVELDEN's Wart Keldermans threw himself towards the right post 31 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jorre Van Den Eynden, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jorre Van Den Eynden got free with Wart Keldermans in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jorre Van Den Eynden could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Wart Keldermans made a huge save.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jorre Van Den Eynden stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Wart Keldermans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hendrik Dierickx in the 51st minute of play. VM HOPVELDEN's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jan Baecke in the 53rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Franky Goolen in the 55th minute of play forced De Matoekoes's goalkeeper Wart Keldermans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Domingos Gonzo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Garry Imbereghs in the 56th minute of play. De Matoekoes's Wart Keldermans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorre Van Den Eynden in the 60th minute of play. Ritchie Van Craen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wart Keldermans having to interfere. Domingos Gonzo made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Tibo Sterks sent off a good shot on target. Hendrik Dierickx received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Wart Keldermans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 69th match minute, VM HOPVELDEN was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jan Baecke to maneuver through the defense. Domingos Gonzo was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Roger Diependaele. Wart Keldermans didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jorre Van Den Eynden went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. 83 minutes into the game, VM HOPVELDEN's Franky Goolen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wart Keldermans made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Wart Keldermans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robert Pivniceru in the 86th minute of the match. VM HOPVELDEN's Danny Tombuer suffered a sore foot after 87 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Octaaf Maes's late challenge caught a VM HOPVELDEN's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Octaaf Maes helped the player get up and apologised. VM HOPVELDEN's Viktor Dejardin was substituted for Danny Tombuer. Octaaf Maes hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Wart Keldermans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ritchie Van Craen in the 92nd minute of the match. In the 96th minute Jorre Van Den Eynden shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wart Keldermans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. VM HOPVELDEN walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
