Spectators: 9225 (Terracing: 6920, Seating: 2122, VIP seats: 183) RWDM's Dirk Toeback started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nélson Brites took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernand De Beer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 6 minutes into the match, KSV Sottegem's goal looked a bit too open when Lennert Van der Vloedt came free, but Nélson Brites reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nélson Brites showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dirk Toeback, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. After 11 played minutes KSV Sottegem got a freekick which was hit by Ferdinando Imperatore. Nélson Brites made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dirk Toeback in the 14th minute of play. When Dirk Toeback came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the RWDM fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dirk Toeback couldn't finish the play. Fernand De Beer took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nélson Brites. Nélson Brites dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Fernand De Beer scored 0-2 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nélson Brites, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 27 minutes into the match, Dirk Toeback notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of KSV Sottegem's Nélson Brites. Nélson Brites was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nélson Brites showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lennert Van der Vloedt, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 33rd minute Dirk Toeback shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nélson Brites saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nélson Brites showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lennert Van der Vloedt in the 36th minute of the match. The supporters of RWDM booed when KSV Sottegem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nico Tuytgans didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nélson Brites showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dirk Toeback, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Nico Tuytgans kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. 41 minutes into the game, RWDM's Lennert Van der Vloedt nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nélson Brites made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dirk Toeback in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nélson Brites prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 48 played minutes Conny Komen shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for KSV Sottegem's Nélson Brites to catch but Conny Komen was lucky. It became 0-5 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jeremey Van Hallebeeck to strike the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes of play, RWDM's Fernand De Beer made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nélson Brites was left in no man's land by his defense there! Arman Bammerman struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Tony Vandenberge didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KSV Sottegem. 62 minutes into the game, RWDM's Dany-Adams De Scheper nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nélson Brites made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-7. When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, Dirk Toeback took a quick shot and it went in 0-8 without a chance for Nélson Brites to make any attempt to save it. Lennert Van der Vloedt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 72 minutes into the match, KSV Sottegem's goalkeeper Nélson Brites had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lennert Van der Vloedt. In the 74th minute, Lennert Van der Vloedt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nélson Brites was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-9. 78 minutes into the match, KSV Sottegem's goalkeeper Nélson Brites had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fernand De Beer. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dirk Toeback in the 79th minute of play forced KSV Sottegem's goalkeeper Nélson Brites to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. That made the score 0-10 in the 84 minute of play. 88 minutes into the game, Dirk Toeback recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nélson Brites. Dirk Toeback showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-11. A sloppy throw-in by Dylan Van Meenen in the 90th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by KSV Sottegem's Ferdinando Imperatore. Jeremey Van Hallebeeck's late challenge caught a RWDM's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jeremey Van Hallebeeck helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of RWDM booed when KSV Sottegem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeremey Van Hallebeeck didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, KSV Sottegem's Arkadiusz Domeradzki got a free kick in the 93rd minute. After recieving a nice pass, RWDM's Conny Komen tried to score from far away in the 93rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Nélson Brites was out of position in the 96 minute of play, and Lennert Van der Vloedt capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Lennert Van der Vloedt really showed his touch with that goal: 0-12. The KSV Sottegem fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. RWDM were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
