The audience thought a goal was coming when Darren Blewitt got free with Bob Rhodes in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bob Rhodes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Darren Blewitt in the 8th minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, Racing Club Canillo's goalkeeper Bob Rhodes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Scott Le Saux. The crowd rose to their feet as FC Soldeu's Scott Le Saux slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bob Rhodes. That made the score 2-0 after 18 minutes of play. In the 20th minute, Racing Club Canillo's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Darren Blewitt fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 21st minute Andy Bartlett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bob Rhodes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 21st minute, Andy Bartlett ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bob Rhodes was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Bob Rhodes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Scott Le Saux, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ray Milburn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ray Milburn kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, FC Soldeu's Doug Hoskins got a free kick in the 44th minute. After 45 played minutes, Racing Club Canillo's Wes Hartshorn shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Andy Renner came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Racing Club Canillo reached it. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Scott Le Saux made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, FC Soldeu's goalkeeper Andy Renner had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hubert Ånger. Bob Rhodes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Darren Blewitt, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. When FC Soldeu's Scott Le Saux, in the 59th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for FC Soldeu. Jonathan Edmonton was slow to take the kick. During this time Racing Club Canillo's players had a chance to rest. Andy Renner made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Hubert Ånger sent off a good shot on target. After 82 played minutes Racing Club Canillo got a freekick which was hit by Wes Hartshorn. In the 84th minute Darren Blewitt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bob Rhodes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bob Rhodes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Darren Blewitt, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Trev Holden charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Trev Holden the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Racing Club Canillo's Bob Rhodes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luizinho Maldini in the 87th minute of play. Bob Rhodes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Darren Blewitt in the 90th minute of play. A collision led to FC Soldeu getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Patryk Huchro hit a great ball.
