MARIUS MARCOV's Aurelian Buzincu got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Moise Ştiubei fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CFR Cluj's protests and gave Moise Ştiubei a yellow card for diving instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Petruț Buteanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. MARIUS MARCOV's supporters rose to their feet, but Petruț Buteanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mihăiţă Brumă breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 21st match minute, MARIUS MARCOV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henri-Xavier Engelborghs to maneuver through the defense. Mihăiţă Brumă made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emanuel de Godoi in the 24th minute. Vintilă Tiberiu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonard Dabija, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Mihăiţă Brumă didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aurelian Buzincu went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. With a little luck, CFR Cluj's Mihăiţă Brumă got control of the ball when Emanuel de Godoi tried to sneak it across the goal line. 33 minutes into the game, Aurelian Buzincu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Mihăiţă Brumă was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mihăiţă Brumă made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emanuel de Godoi in the 37th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Aurelian Buzincu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mihăiţă Brumă was out of position in the 40 minute of play, and Petruț Buteanu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Petruț Buteanu really showed his touch with that goal: 4-0. The audience was convinced that Aurelian Buzincu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mihăiţă Brumă was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. After having played for 45 minutes, Petruț Buteanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MARIUS MARCOV's supporters crossed their fingers, but Petruț Buteanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

MARIUS MARCOV made a substitution. Costică Tăcutu replaced Aurelian Buzincu. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Costică Tăcutu made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nechifor Zbârciog during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 56th match minute, CFR Cluj was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nechifor Zbârciog to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel de Godoi in the 69th minute of play forced CFR Cluj's goalkeeper Mihăiţă Brumă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Petruț Buteanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. CFR Cluj's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alkın Berksan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 8-0. The throw-in from Ştefan Oargă in the 84th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by MARIUS MARCOV's Teodor Duțulescu. Mihăiţă Brumă came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by MARIUS MARCOV's Alkın Berksan. But to his dismay, Alkın Berksan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 9-0. Emanuel de Godoi took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mihăiţă Brumă. Mihăiţă Brumă dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 10-0. Emanuel de Godoi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mihăiţă Brumă having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Costică Tăcutu in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mihăiţă Brumă prevented the ball from getting in the gole. There was no doubt that MARIUS MARCOV were the better team. MARIUS MARCOV's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
