Stelian Vergulescu kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the game, Andrés Silvera cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Petre Tufescu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Petre Tufescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliodor Puiu in the 26th minute of the match. Olimpiu Crăciunaș's late challenge caught a Minerul Baia Mare's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Olimpiu Crăciunaș helped the player get up and apologised. Olimpiu Crăciunaș kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. In the 30th minute Andrés Silvera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petre Tufescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Petre Tufescu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. In the 43rd minute, Andrés Silvera got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Petre Tufescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ionică Nacu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cazimir Adomniței stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Toader Oniga scored 1-4 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Petre Tufescu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Andrés Silvera's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 56thth minute, Petre Tufescu skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Cazimir Adomniței could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Petre Tufescu made a huge save. After 58 played minutes Andrés Silvera rounded ASU POLI TIMISOARA's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-5. 62 minutes into the game, Eliodor Puiu lined in a short shot 1-6 behind a frustrated Petre Tufescu. Petre Tufescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toader Oniga in the 66th minute of play. Petre Tufescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toader Oniga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Christian Sabino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Petre Tufescu made a huge save. Petre Tufescu came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Minerul Baia Mare's Ionel Ciompec. But to his dismay, Ionel Ciompec quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-7. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eliodor Puiu got free with Petre Tufescu in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, ASU POLI TIMISOARA's Petre Tufescu got control of the ball when Cazimir Adomniței tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 82nd match minute, Minerul Baia Mare was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ionică Nacu to maneuver through the defense. In the 86th minute, Andrés Silvera left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Minerul Baia Mare fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-8. When Minerul Baia Mare's Cazimir Adomniței in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
