In the 8th minute Cazimir Adomniței shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iacob Cernat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cazimir Adomniței scored 0-2 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Iacob Cernat, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. FC Universitatea Cluj's Iacob Cernat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cazimir Adomniței in the 17th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Cazimir Adomniței's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Iacob Cernat was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Calistrat Pascaru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Waclaw Markowski in the 19th minute of the match. Calistrat Pascaru made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fellipe Guedes in the 21st minute. Iacob Cernat showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cazimir Adomniței in the 22nd minute of the match. Iacob Cernat came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Minerul Baia Mare's Eliodor Puiu. But to his dismay, Eliodor Puiu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Giannis Kalomiris stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Iacob Cernat was out of position in the 51 minute of play, and Andrés Silvera capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Andrés Silvera really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. Minerul Baia Mare's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ionel Ciompec in the 55th minute. Ionel Ciompec made a great header on Minerul Baia Mare's corner, it was just that FC Universitatea Cluj's Iacob Cernat managed to reach the ball for a save. After having played for 57 minutes, Giannis Kalomiris managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Universitatea Cluj's supporters crossed their fingers, but Giannis Kalomiris was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 58 played minutes FC Universitatea Cluj got a freekick which was hit by Alin Dică. In the 60th minute Cazimir Adomniței shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iacob Cernat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fellipe Guedes might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Calistrat Pascaru. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fellipe Guedes ran back to his position shaking his head. 69 minutes into the match, FC Universitatea Cluj's goal looked a bit too open when Andrés Silvera came free, but Iacob Cernat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cazimir Adomniței got free with Iacob Cernat in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Iacob Cernat showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrés Silvera, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Waclaw Markowski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 84th minute, Andrés Silvera made a precise shot to the right of Iacob Cernat. FC Universitatea Cluj's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-7. After 91 played minutes Minerul Baia Mare got a freekick which was hit by Eliodor Puiu. After a rather tough play, FC Universitatea Cluj's Pantaley Ganev got a free kick in the 95th minute. Minerul Baia Mare played a much better game than FC Universitatea Cluj and deserved their victory. The FC Universitatea Cluj players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
