The audience was convinced that Benjamin Carberry's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Walter Huarte was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. Walter Huarte didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Benjamin Carberry went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Benjamin Carberry received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Walter Huarte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Astillero del Guayas's Dani Galiana took a good shot, in the 37th minute, which hit the crossbar above Waud De Geyter's head, and flew over the goal. Silver Squad AFC's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by Astillero del Guayas. Astillero del Guayas's Walter Huarte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damazy Radzyminski in the 39th minute of play. If Damazy Radzyminski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45th minute Frans Van Caubergen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walter Huarte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Loid De Keuster to make the kick off. Izydor Czysta charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Izydor Czysta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Astillero del Guayas booed when Silver Squad AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Izydor Czysta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Damazy Radzyminski received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Damazy Radzyminski might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Walter Huarte. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Damazy Radzyminski ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 62ndth minute of the game Damazy Radzyminski who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Astillero del Guayas's Walter Huarte was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Damazy Radzyminski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Walter Huarte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 76th minute Bror Litenboks shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walter Huarte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Damazy Radzyminski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Loid De Keuster scored 0-6 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Walter Huarte, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Walter Huarte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frans Van Caubergen in the 94th minute of the match.
