In a very dangerous position, a player in Merusca F&P fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 3rd minute. Penalty! With an all-out effort, Merusca F&P's Christer Fernström threw himself towards the right post 14 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Roger Chaillot, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 15th minute, Roger Chaillot left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Merusca F&P fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Christer Fernström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan Ramalho in the 19th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 25 minutes, Christer Fernström successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Sérgio das Neves blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Christer Fernström having to make a save. Christer Fernström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sérgio das Neves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30th minute Sérgio das Neves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christer Fernström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kingpins's Christer Fernström proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Kingpins from getting a goal against them. Christer Fernström made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Sérgio das Neves sent off a good shot on target. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sérgio das Neves stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Luís Fernando Pirani made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gianluca Vialli in the 54th minute. The supporters of Merusca F&P booed when Kingpins was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Ogazón didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jean-Baptiste Lacroix kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. In the 71st minute, Luizinho Messias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Christer Fernström came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Merusca F&P's Sérgio das Neves. But to his dismay, Sérgio das Neves quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Merusca F&P made a substitution. Sydney da Cunha replaced Juan Ramalho. Christer Fernström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sydney da Cunha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luís Fernando Pirani didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rickard Lundgren went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Alfredinho Tinoco's late challenge caught a Kingpins's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alfredinho Tinoco helped the player get up and apologised. In the 86th match minute, Merusca F&P was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredinho Tinoco to maneuver through the defense. Luís Fernando Pirani made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gianluca Vialli in the 89th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walmir Pontes in the 92nd minute of play forced Kingpins's goalkeeper Christer Fernström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christer Fernström came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Merusca F&P's Walmir Pontes. But to his dismay, Walmir Pontes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2.

For all the effort they put into the match, the Kingpins players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Merusca F&P.
