Gilbert Kleen started the match with the kick off. Mikael Ekeberg's late challenge caught a Hartlepool's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Niklas Jonasson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilbert Kleen in the 69th minute of play. Bo Ahlin was shown his second yellow card after 71 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. 76 minutes into the game, Oskar Tunström was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hartlepool's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kingpins the free kick. Oskar Tunström hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match.
