After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Ferenc van Nistelrooij managed to get in a good position for a shot. In the 16th minute Mehdixan Balacayev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yusuf Ziya Sertaç saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 19 in the game by Yaqub Cämilov from a close distance when the talented Yusuf Ziya Sertaç managed to make a qualified save. S.João de Areias's players were relieved. S.João de Areias's Yusuf Ziya Sertaç played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eldäniz Isayev in the 20th minute of play. Yusuf Ziya Sertaç didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Yaqub Cämilov went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Lourenço Godinho kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Qurban Äsädli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ferenc van Nistelrooij in the 29th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Yaqub Cämilov in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Yusuf Ziya Sertaç prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 33 minutes S.João de Areias's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mehdixan Balacayev who took care of the corner kick. Yusuf Ziya Sertaç took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yaqub Cämilov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bonifacio Aznar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Yaqub Cämilov was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute Bonifacio Aznar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Qurban Äsädli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, S.João de Areias's Fatih Tekke got a free kick in the 51st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yaqub Cämilov in the 55th minute of play forced S.João de Areias's goalkeeper Yusuf Ziya Sertaç to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to S.João de Areias getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Fatih Tekke hit a great ball. S.João de Areias's Bonifacio Aznar got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Yusuf Ziya Sertaç made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yaqub Cämilov in the 66th minute of play. In the 67th minute, Ferenc van Nistelrooij reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Qurban Äsädli. The goal made the score 2-1. In the 71st minute Yaqub Cämilov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yusuf Ziya Sertaç saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Qurban Äsädli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bonifacio Aznar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 75thth minute of the game Yaqub Cämilov who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but S.João de Areias's Yusuf Ziya Sertaç was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in S.João de Areias's zone, Yaqub Cämilov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yusuf Ziya Sertaç came out of the goal and Yaqub Cämilov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Yusuf Ziya Sertaç stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Yaqub Cämilov's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. Yaqub Cämilov took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Yusuf Ziya Sertaç. Yusuf Ziya Sertaç dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. In the 96thth minute of the game Yaqub Cämilov who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but S.João de Areias's Yusuf Ziya Sertaç was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. SazobaSpor's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
