Noel Branco hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcelinho Cardoso in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dinei de Alcântara saved Josefina from getting behind. In the 10th match minute, Atlético Lucena FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luisão Meirelles to maneuver through the defense. 14 minutes into the match, Atlético Lucena FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Luiz de Lara came free, but Luizinho Negri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 15 minutes, Marcelinho Cardoso made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Josefina's Dinei de Alcântara tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Dinei de Alcântara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelinho Cardoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 24 in the game by Marcelinho Cardoso from a close distance when the talented Dinei de Alcântara managed to make a qualified save. Josefina's players were relieved. Erivaldo Xavier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luisão Meirelles in the 36th minute of play forced Josefina's goalkeeper Dinei de Alcântara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 39 minutes into the match, Josefina's Erivaldo Xavier sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luizinho Negri narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Marcelinho Cardoso in the 45thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Dinei de Alcântara, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Josefina's goalkeeper Dinei de Alcântara, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcelinho Cardoso in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dinei de Alcântara prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Atlético Lucena FC's Luizinho Negri proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Atlético Lucena FC from getting a goal against them. Erivaldo Xaviers short, quick shot in the 59thth minute got Luizinho Negri to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Ruy Quadros's late challenge caught a Josefina's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ruy Quadros helped the player get up and apologised. Erivaldo Xavier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 65 minutes into the match, Marcelinho Cardoso had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dinei de Alcântara. Josefina's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcelinho Cardoso was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Erivaldo Xavier kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Luisão Meirelles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marcelinho Cardoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dinei de Alcântara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelinho Cardoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcelinho Cardoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcelinho Cardoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dinei de Alcântara having to interfere. In the 87th minute Marcelinho Cardoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dinei de Alcântara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Marcelinho Cardoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Atlético Lucena FC booed when Josefina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Noel Branco didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94th minute Pedro Luiz de Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luizinho Negri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 95th minute, Marcelinho Cardoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pedro Luiz de Lara blasted a shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luizinho Negri having to make a save. When the referee ended the match the Atlético Lucena FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
