Áron Bódog fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remus Pinches having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florin Stancu in the 18th minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Ferenc Tököli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute, Tivadar Demeter made a precise shot to the right of Remus Pinches. Romania's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Hungary's Ferenc Tököli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florin Stancu in the 23rd minute of play. The supporters of Romania booed when Hungary was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Richárd Nyilasi didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Tivadar Demeter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Romania's Remus Pinches played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tivadar Demeter in the 30th minute of play. Ferenc Tököli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manuel Isăilă, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Remus Pinches came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Hungary's Tivadar Demeter. But to his dismay, Tivadar Demeter quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Romania's Corneliu Cozac was substituted for Iustin Bâru. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tivadar Demeter to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Hungary were awarded a corner. Mátyás Zakariás went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Hungary's corner Richárd Nyilasi fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Remus Pinches quite easily take care of the ball. A hard shot 57 in the game by Manuel Isăilă from a close distance when the talented Ferenc Tököli managed to make a qualified save. Hungary's players were relieved. Remus Pinches showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from László Gácsi, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Hungary's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Manuel Isăilă was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
