The Romania fans' excitement grew in the 4th match minute when Romania's Iustin Bâru looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Hungary made a substitution. Kornél Ács replaced Áron Bódog. 7 minutes into the game, one of Hungary:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Hungary:s Ferenc Tököli showed great skill when he stopped Octav Blănaru:s penalty. In the 13thth minute of the game Iustin Bâru who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hungary's Ferenc Tököli was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Hungary's zone, Manuel Isăilă stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ferenc Tököli came out of the goal and Manuel Isăilă tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hungary's Ferenc Tököli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iustin Bâru in the 22nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tivadar Demeter in the 28th minute of play forced Romania's goalkeeper Luca Jivulescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 30 minutes into the match, Romania's Manuel Isăilă sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ferenc Tököli narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Romania were awarded a corner in the 32th minute after Hungary's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Octav Blănaru took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Ştefan Iovan managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Ferenc Tököli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Isăilă, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Hungary's Ferenc Tököli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iustin Bâru in the 44th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tivadar Demeter to make the kick off. Ferenc Tököli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iustin Bâru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A nice corner shot did that Mihnea Stanca got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ferenc Tököli quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Ferenc Tököli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Isăilă in the 56th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 58 minutes, Ferenc Tököli successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The Hungary fans' excitement grew in the 60th match minute when Hungary's Tivadar Demeter looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Romania made a substitution. Petre Iftode replaced Octav Blănaru. In the 74th match minute, Hungary was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by László Gácsi to maneuver through the defense. 75 minutes into the match, Hungary's goalkeeper Ferenc Tököli had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Iustin Bâru. Milán Seres kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. 86 minutes into the match, Hungary's goal looked a bit too open when Iustin Bâru came free, but Ferenc Tököli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Romania's Iustin Bâru in the 86th minute got a chance for a shot 86th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hungary's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of Romania booed when Hungary was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Milán Seres didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Hungary supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Romania's performance. The match ended with a win for Romania.
