When Hazım Hastimur fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored istanbulls's protests and gave Hazım Hastimur a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to istanbulls getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Hazım Hastimur hit a great ball. When Houston Fire F.C.'s Bill Clinton in the 4th minute got a chance for a shot 4th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye istanbulls's goalie prevented a goal. 5 minutes into the game, Quintin Mann threw the ball into play from the sideline. istanbulls's Hazım Hastimur quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 13 minutes into the game, istanbulls's Ahmet Göktuğ Arıtan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Geoffrey Calderwood made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 16th minute, istanbulls's Fatih Maradona seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Fatih Maradona the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of istanbulls protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Fatih Maradona had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee gave Houston Fire F.C. a penalty, 18 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by John McCain, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of istanbulls's Hatemi Cire. 1-1. In the 22nd minute, Ahmet Göktuğ Arıtan fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Geoffrey Calderwood, passed just outside the right post. Şaban Şahiner might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Geoffrey Calderwood. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Şaban Şahiner ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 29th minute Scott Guerra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hatemi Cire saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 31st minute, Bill Clinton made a precise shot to the right of Hatemi Cire. istanbulls's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Bill Clinton took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hatemi Cire. Hatemi Cire dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. After a rather tough play, istanbulls's Şaban Şahiner got a free kick in the 37th minute. Hatemi Cire showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bill Clinton, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. After some careless play in the istanbulls defense, John McCain kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hatemi Cire. The istanbulls fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hatemi Cire should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell John McCain to make the kick off. John McCain came free with the goalkeeper in the 51st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Hatemi Cire could save by the left post. Scott Guerra received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Hatemi Cire came out and tried to block the shot, but Scott Guerra slotted it home off the left post making it 1-5 in the 53rd minute. In the 57th minute Lincoln Aldridge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hatemi Cire saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hatemi Cire made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John McCain in the 58th minute of play. In the 59th minute, Houston Fire F.C.'s Scott Guerra ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Hatemi Cire. Hatemi Cire yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-6. In the 63rd minute, İsmail Hakkı Onuralp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. istanbulls's Hatemi Cire played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John McCain in the 65th minute of play. Bill Clinton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hatemi Cire having to interfere. In the 69th minute, John McCain made a precise shot to the right of Hatemi Cire. istanbulls's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-7. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Şaban Şahiner managed to get in a good position for a shot. istanbulls's supporters rose to their feet, but Şaban Şahiner was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Geoffrey Calderwood breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, istanbulls's Hatemi Cire got control of the ball when Derek Metzger tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 78th play minute John McCain came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Hatemi Cire. 1-8. Geoffrey Calderwood made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Şaban Şahiner in the 82nd minute of play. In the 88th minute, Ahmet Göktuğ Arıtan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Houston Fire F.C. were furious when Abraham Lincoln was red carded, 90 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 89th minute, one of Houston Fire F.C.:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Houston Fire F.C.. The referee gave istanbulls a penalty, 91 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Mustafa Ali Pala, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Houston Fire F.C.'s Geoffrey Calderwood. 2-8. A collision led to istanbulls getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Cihangir Nurtekin hit a great ball. Houston Fire F.C. played a much better game than istanbulls and deserved their victory. The istanbulls players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
