An unexpectedly hard shot by Çağlar Başer in the 4th minute of play forced MeRSiN-İDMaN-YuRDu's goalkeeper Orhan Hacıahmetoğlu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 9 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Ahmet Göktuğ Arıtan sped through MeRSiN-İDMaN-YuRDu's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Orhan Hacıahmetoğlu. 23 minutes into the game, Çağlar Başer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. istanbulls's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MeRSiN-İDMaN-YuRDu the free kick. Çağlar Başer hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Nafiz Özaydın received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Orhan Hacıahmetoğlu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Çağlar Başer in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Orhan Hacıahmetoğlu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Orhan Hacıahmetoğlu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Çağlar Başer in the 39th minute of play. Abdurrezzak Ünveren hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. 47 minutes into the match, Vahit Necip notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of MeRSiN-İDMaN-YuRDu's Orhan Hacıahmetoğlu. Orhan Hacıahmetoğlu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abdurrezzak Ünveren to make the kick off. A collision led to istanbulls getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Cihangir Nurtekin hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Çağlar Başer in the 58th minute of play forced MeRSiN-İDMaN-YuRDu's goalkeeper Orhan Hacıahmetoğlu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. MeRSiN-İDMaN-YuRDu's Orhan Hacıahmetoğlu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Çağlar Başer in the 59th minute of play. In the 61st minute Çağlar Başer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Orhan Hacıahmetoğlu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. istanbulls's Çağlar Başer got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Ahmet Göktuğ Arıtan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 69 minutes into the match, istanbulls's goalkeeper Kaan Erginsoy had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hakkı Kenan Uygun. Çağlar Başer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orhan Hacıahmetoğlu having to interfere. After a rather tough play, istanbulls's Vahit Necip got a free kick in the 73rd minute. After 75 minutes, Vahit Necip mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the istanbulls and the MeRSiN-İDMaN-YuRDu players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 75 played minutes istanbulls got a freekick which was hit by Vahit Necip. 78 minutes into the match, MeRSiN-İDMaN-YuRDu's goal looked a bit too open when Çağlar Başer came free, but Orhan Hacıahmetoğlu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Orhan Hacıahmetoğlu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ahmet Göktuğ Arıtan, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. After some careless play in the MeRSiN-İDMaN-YuRDu defense, Ahmet Göktuğ Arıtan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Orhan Hacıahmetoğlu. The MeRSiN-İDMaN-YuRDu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Orhan Hacıahmetoğlu should have stopped the shot. istanbulls's Ahmet Göktuğ Arıtan got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. istanbulls fully deserved thier win.
