The Consejo del Mate fans' excitement grew in the 30th match minute when Consejo del Mate's Vicente Santana looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Esen Sanal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvaro Castel in the 33rd minute of play. Esen Sanal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alvaro Castel went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Tarcisio Mangueira got a free kick in the 35th minute. After 40 minutes Consejo del Mate's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Faustão Châton who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's corner Faustão Châton fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Hugo Orlando Gatti quite easily take care of the ball. Javier Betadur charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Javier Betadur the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Consejo del Mate's Fagildo Pamanes got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Faustão Châton was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 44th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal.

Consejo del Mate's Bonifacio Ibon was substituted for Vicente Pernia. The wind increased when Benedykt Pankiewicz made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julio Kemen in the 53rd minute of play forced S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goalkeeper Esen Sanal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hugo Orlando Gatti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benedykt Pankiewicz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
