But to his dismay, Yin Jian Bin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Yin Jian Bin scored 0-2 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carroll Hathaway, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sérgio Madureira during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Sérgio Madureira kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Carroll Hathaway didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Yin Jian Bin went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Albert Hidegkúti hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Yin Jian Bin struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Carroll Hathaway didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sportivo Mela Banco. Sportivo Mela Banco's Franco Andreoli proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Sportivo Mela Banco from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Sipo EC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Américo Marinho hit a great ball. 35 minutes into the game, Sportivo Mela Banco's Yin Jian Bin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Carroll Hathaway made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Sportivo Mela Banco's Ladislao Ermengol managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Igor Linares in the 39 minute of the game. Mané Paulista charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mané Paulista the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Sportivo Mela Banco booed when Sipo EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mané Paulista didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yin Jian Bin in the 45th minute of play forced Sipo EC's goalkeeper Carroll Hathaway to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 48 minutes into the match, Yin Jian Bin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carroll Hathaway. Sipo EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Yin Jian Bin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Yin Jian Bin was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Sipo EC getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Albert Hidegkúti hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Yin Jian Bin got free with Carroll Hathaway in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Albert Hidegkúti charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Albert Hidegkúti the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 70th match minute, Sipo EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albert Hidegkúti to maneuver through the defense. After 72 minutes of play Sipo EC's Albert Hidegkúti was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 72nd match minute, Sipo EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albert Hidegkúti to maneuver through the defense. If Yin Jian Bin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Franco Andreoli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Noel Velloso in the 75th minute of play. Carroll Hathaway made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Yin Jian Bin sent off a good shot on target. Franco Andreoli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flávio Reis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carroll Hathaway made an important save on a dangerous shot by Yin Jian Bin in the 85th minute. Sipo EC's Carroll Hathaway played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teo Elivareo in the 87th minute of play. The Sipo EC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Sportivo Mela Banco were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
