In the 6th minute Shi Li shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franco Andreoli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Sauveur in the 10th minute of play forced Galati Harbour Cats's goalkeeper Octavian Soare to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bruno Sauveur in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Octavian Soare prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shi Li in the 21st minute of play forced Sportivo Mela Banco's goalkeeper Franco Andreoli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Bruno Sauveur's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Octavian Soare was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Bruno Sauveur took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Octavian Soare. Octavian Soare dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Antoni Dembkowski kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Octavian Soare made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Bruno Sauveur sent off a good shot on target. Bruno Sauveur's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Octavian Soare read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. When Sportivo Mela Banco's Bruno Sauveur in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Galati Harbour Cats's goalie prevented a goal. Galati Harbour Cats's Shi Li got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

With a little luck, Sportivo Mela Banco's Franco Andreoli got control of the ball when Shi Li tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Galati Harbour Cats's zone, Bruno Sauveur stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Octavian Soare came out of the goal and Bruno Sauveur tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 57 minutes into the match, Sportivo Mela Banco's goalkeeper Franco Andreoli had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Shi Li. In the 58th minute, Alberto Rosio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Galati Harbour Cats's zone, Bruno Sauveur stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Octavian Soare came out of the goal and Bruno Sauveur tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Shi Li's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Franco Andreoli firmly grabbed it by the left post. If Bruno Sauveur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 74 minutes into the match, Galati Harbour Cats's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Sauveur came free, but Octavian Soare reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 89th minute Bruno Sauveur shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Octavian Soare saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Octavian Soare stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bruno Sauveur's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sportivo Mela Banco fans cheered their team off the field, for while Galati Harbour Cats had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
