After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Valentine Hernandez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paraguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Valentine Hernandez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Innokentiy Blyakhin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Kazakhstan getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Vitaliy Vorobey hit a great ball. If Valentine Hernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kazakhstan's Innokentiy Blyakhin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Kazakhstan from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, Gary Ayala took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Innokentiy Blyakhin to make any attempt to save it.

Paraguay's Gervasio Pavieta was substituted for Gary Ayala. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Miroslav Pristavkin to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Kazakhstan's goalkeeper Innokentiy Blyakhin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 71st minute Valentine Hernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Innokentiy Blyakhin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 75 minutes into the game, Valentine Hernandez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0.
