The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Wellington França received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Luís Paulo Mesquita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 6th match minute, Guaimim FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Váldson Miranda to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Imperium MZC's Lino Prata got a free kick in the 8th minute. Guaimim FC's Geovani Mendes got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hílton Novaes struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Luís Paulo Mesquita didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Imperium MZC. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Wellington França managed to get in a good position for a shot. Imperium MZC's supporters rose to their feet, but Wellington França was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luís Paulo Mesquita breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Danilo Paranaense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geovani Mendes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Olavo Matorin fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Guaimim FC's protests and gave Olavo Matorin a yellow card for diving instead. Luís Paulo Mesquita stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hílton Novaes's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. Luís Paulo Mesquita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hílton Novaes in the 29th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Guaimim FC's Marco Capixaba got a free kick in the 34th minute. After 40 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Imperium MZC! Gernando Quadros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danilo Paranaense having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Hílton Novaes managed to get in a good position for a shot. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Geovani Mendes was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Imperium MZC's Wellington França nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luís Paulo Mesquita made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Guaimim FC's Luís Paulo Mesquita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hílton Novaes in the 57th minute of play. Luís Paulo Mesquita came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Imperium MZC's Hílton Novaes. But to his dismay, Hílton Novaes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Hílton Novaes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Luís Paulo Mesquita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Imperium MZC's Hílton Novaes in the 67th minute got a chance for a shot 67th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Guaimim FC's goalie prevented a goal. After 92 played minutes Guaimim FC got a freekick which was hit by Nuno Rodrigues. Gernando Quadros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Danilo Paranaense made a huge save.
