Gilberto Madeo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Guaberto Lavet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Edison Murillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 23 minutes into the match, Star One Team's goal looked a bit too open when Váldson de Medeiros came free, but Gilberto Madeo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Freire FC's Edison Murillo got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 28th minute, Edison Murillo made a precise shot to the right of Gilberto Madeo. Star One Team's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Star One Team's Gilberto Madeo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guaberto Lavet in the 35th minute of play. In the 36th minute, Edison Murillo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gilberto Madeo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Gilberto Madeo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edison Murillo in the 40th minute of play. Gilberto Madeo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guaberto Lavet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gilberto Madeo didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Freire FC's Guaberto Lavet shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-4 in the ordered_time% minute. In the 47th minute, Guaberto Lavet ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gilberto Madeo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Diego Erroman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gilberto Madeo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edison Murillo in the 56th minute. In the 58th minute, Edison Murillo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Freire FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-6. After 64 minutes, Gilmar Cearense mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Freire FC and the Star One Team players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gilmar Cearense kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Diego Erroman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Star One Team's supporters rose to their feet, but Diego Erroman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Álvaro Porto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 69th minute, Star One Team's Wilton Vergílio seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Wilton Vergílio the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Star One Team protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Wilton Vergílio had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Star One Team's Gilberto Madeo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Star One Team from getting a goal against them. 73 minutes into the game, Alexsandro Machado was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Star One Team's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Freire FC the free kick. Guaberto Lavet struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Gilberto Madeo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Freire FC. 76 minutes into the match, Edison Murillo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gilberto Madeo. Star One Team's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edison Murillo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-7. Tomás Sena might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Álvaro Porto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomás Sena ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guaberto Lavet in the 81st minute of play forced Star One Team's goalkeeper Gilberto Madeo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gilberto Madeo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guaberto Lavet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 86th minute Guaberto Lavet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Madeo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Star One Team's defense didn't have a chance, in the 88th minute, when Váldson de Medeiros scored to the left of an out of position Gilberto Madeo, making the score, 0-8. Guaberto Lavet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Madeo having to interfere. Álvaro Porto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomás Sena in the 98th minute of play.
