Sporting Menem DEAD's Isidro Arce got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Everardo Selmo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonel Bide in the 13th minute of play. In the 15th minute Javier Rolado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Everardo Selmo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Leonel Bide had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Everardo Selmo. Sporting Menem DEAD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leonel Bide was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. If Isidro Arce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Javier Rolado in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Everardo Selmo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Everardo Selmo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Javier Rolado's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. In the 37th minute of the match, Isidro Arce tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jonas Cerilo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a defensive mix-up in Sporting Menem DEAD's zone, Leonel Bide stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Everardo Selmo came out of the goal and Leonel Bide tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Javier Rolado might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Everardo Selmo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Javier Rolado ran back to his position shaking his head. If Leonel Bide had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Isidro Arce stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Leonel Bide ran back to his position shaking his head. After 66 minutes, Everardo Marcones mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sporting Menem DEAD and the Pirámide FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 66th match minute, Sporting Menem DEAD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Everardo Marcones to maneuver through the defense. 71 minutes into the game, Javier Rolado lined in a short shot 1-3 behind a frustrated Everardo Selmo. Jonas Cerilo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ciro Mark, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Everardo Selmo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Javier Rolado in the 95th minute of play. Everardo Selmo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Javier Rolado, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. Pirámide FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
