Alvogas's Almiro Caneira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Alvogas from getting a goal against them. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Alvogas's Silvério Liberato got his second yellow card of the match in the 52nd minute. The referee ordered Silvério Liberato off the ground. Almiro Caneira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Ruas in the 88th minute of the match. Alvogas's Almiro Caneira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gică Drumeș in the 89th minute of play. 94 minutes into the match, Alvogas's goal looked a bit too open when Gică Drumeș came free, but Almiro Caneira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Almiro Caneira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elias Bento in the 96th minute of play. In the 96th minute Elias Bento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Almiro Caneira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Marialva S.C. had played much better football throughout.
