The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute, Marius Langhelle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eskil Hoel was a little too slow when Tor-Andre Ottem got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 7th minute. The score was now 1-0. Erland Aurstad fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eskil Hoel having to interfere. In the 14th minute Victor Mahmood shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andreas Høyvik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 23rd match minute, Vardaberg BK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andreas Aandal to maneuver through the defense. 36 minutes into the game, Vardaberg BK's Victor Mahmood nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Andreas Høyvik made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Erland Aurstad to strike the kick off in the second half. Jørn Abrahamsen scored 3-1 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eskil Hoel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 58th minute Finn-Christian Gjelsvik shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andreas Høyvik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gjermund Buvarp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 71st minute, Jo Sandersen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Andreas Høyvik showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Finn-Christian Gjelsvik in the 75th minute of the match. In the 76th minute Erland Aurstad shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eskil Hoel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Erland Aurstad in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eskil Hoel saved Vardaberg BK from getting behind. Erland Aurstad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eskil Hoel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arvid Lindstrøm, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 84 minutes of play, Karnes IL's Erland Aurstad made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eskil Hoel was left in no man's land by his defense there! Karnes IL's Andreas Høyvik played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Finn-Christian Gjelsvik in the 92nd minute of play. There was no doubt that Karnes IL were the better team. Karnes IL's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
