The tension between the S52 Wonder Team and the FC Axel players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to S52 Wonder Team getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. S52 Wonder Team's Roger De Worteler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stef De Jonghe in the 5th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 6 minutes, Chris-George Jaddon successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Hans Bourgignon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Guust Verheijd got free with Chris-George Jaddon in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hans Bourgignon kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Gerard Roockeloos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Roger De Worteler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roger De Worteler stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stef De Jonghe's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. 27 minutes into the match, S52 Wonder Team's goal looked a bit too open when Gerard Roockeloos came free, but Roger De Worteler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 44th minute of the match, Yoachim Van Laer got a very nice opportunity to score, but Chris-George Jaddon was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Roger De Worteler came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Axel's Adolf Klaes. But to his dismay, Adolf Klaes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. After the first half FC Axel were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

If Joos Vandommele had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roger De Worteler breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joos Vandommele got free with Roger De Worteler in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, S52 Wonder Team's Roger De Worteler got control of the ball when Gerard Roockeloos tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gilian De Ruyter during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 76 minutes of play, FC Axel's Stef De Jonghe made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Stef De Jonghe might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Roger De Worteler. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Stef De Jonghe ran back to his position shaking his head. A hard shot 85 in the game by Stef De Jonghe from a close distance when the talented Roger De Worteler managed to make a qualified save. S52 Wonder Team's players were relieved. In the 88th minute, Guust Verheijd ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Chris-George Jaddon was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4. If Adolf Klaes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
